A Northumberland Fusiliers Sergeant wearing the RHS medal

Concentrating primarily on lifesaving medals and selected civil awards, Specialist Medals aims to offer a range of such items for your consideration. Due to the individual nature of such awards, each is here described along with a synopsis of the circumstances leading up to the award and biographical details of recipients where such information is available. Do contact me directly to discuss any particular piece that may be of interest or if you are seeking medals that you want to be notified of should they become available. Wants are listed on the site without charge.

Those of you considering disposing of medals are strongly encouraged to negotiate such sales through Specialist Medals, by either selling directly to me to supplement present stock or using Specialist Medals as your agent to advertise and conduct the sale. Where such 'agent sales' are your option of choice, medals are held by me, advertised, negotiations undertaken and sold in return for a competitive commission of 5% of the total sum realised.

In addition to such trading, Specialist Medals aims to support research and discussion of these areas through highlighting useful web links, hosting articles and illustrating the various types of awards. Your contributions to these areas are welcome. As a collector of over 30 years experience and as a member of the Orders and Medals Research Society (OMRS) and the Life Saving Awards Research Society (LSARS), I support the aims and policies of both organisations and strongly encourage any of you who are not members to consider joining. LSARS is particularly relevant to those interested in lifesaving awards and further details and a membership application are available here to download.

medals2Items may be paid for by cheque or bankers draft, made payable to 'Dr Roger Willoughby'. Payment is also possible using PayPal, though this will incur additional transaction charges. Do enquire about extended payment terms.

For a specialist and individual service, aimed at building individual collections and knowledge of these awards, do contact me directly to discuss how I may be of assistance.

Roger Willoughby
