Stolen Medals
The loss of medals through burglary and theft is always upsetting when it happens, particularly given their uniqueness and emotive significance. With most British lifesaving medals and civil decorations being named to individual recipients, they are fortunately readily identifiable, thus limiting their value on the black market and making recovery more possible.

To aid such identification and recovery, details of stolen named or otherwise identifiable lifesaving medals and civil awards may be listed here along with details of who should be contacted in the event of their coming to light. Please contact me directly if you have items to list.

  1. Bram Stoker: RHS bronze medal, 14 September 1882. Stolen from the recipient's family in Montreal in about 1990.
  2. Rosslyn Roger Lindsey (James) Young, Royal Artillery: GM (GVI), BEM (GVI),1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star, Africa Star, Burma Star, Defence Medal, War Medal, GSM bar, AGS bar Kenya, Territorial LS&GC. Original medals stolen from the recipient's home in Devon.
